Myrtle Beach, SC (December 2, 2009) -- Fourth, Eighth, Fifth, Fifth, Fifth ... Those are the finishes you would expect to see out of a second year driver of Late Model Stock Cars, but Bethesda, Maryland driver Jeff Oleen put together those five finishes in his first five ever starts.

Oleen, who started his career in WKA Karting like many young drivers has quickly been climbing the racing food chain as just last

year he was behind the wheel of a Ford Focus Midget and now finds himself driving for Late Model Stock Car racing's most prominent team, FDJ Motorsports. FDJ Motorsports is owned by Late Model Stock Car veteran and one of the most winningest drivers in history, Frank Deiny, Jr. and Oleen is his newest and one of his most promising drivers.

Deiny has been impressed with Oleen's quick on track success as his first race behind the wheel of a Late Model Stock Car type chassis came in the NASCAR Whelen 300 at legendary Martinsville Speedway. This was the first ever Limited Late Model race on the same 1/2 mile track that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series visits twice annually and Oleen was a huge success right from the start of the weekend's activities. Oleen's performance in the Martinsville race was incredible for the young driver's first time in a NASCAR Late Model Stock Car type car.

What started at Martinsville with a 16th place qualifying effort in European-style qualifying turned into a hard charge in a 50-lap race marred with cautions among rookies and veterans alike. Oleen climbed all the way to a 4th place finish in a crazy green, white, checkered finish in nearly entire darkness as the Martinsville, VA track doesn't have lights. Oleen's next start came in a Late Model Stock Car race the following week at Orange County Speedway, which was another quick step-up for the young driver, but he handled it like a champ and finished a strong eighth against some of the best drivers in the business.

Oleen next attacked the Orange County Speedway in a Late Model Stock Car again for his third start of his career and this time he came more prepared and ready to walk away with a top five finish. His car and team as always was strong and with the experience he gained two weeks earlier on the tough, tight, little 3/8 mile track he was able to race among the top five all race long and settled in for a fifth place finish.

Next up was another big race for the Limited Late Models, this time on the historic, South Boston Speedway in South Boston, VA and Oleen wasn't about to let the history of the 4/10 mile track intimidate him. Oleen turned up the heat and picked up yet another top five finish in the 100-lap affair placing fifth once again in just his second ever start in the highly competitive Limited Late Models and fourth start overall in a Late Model Stock Car type chassis.

Oleen's next stop came in the recent Riders Wholesale 100 race for the Limited Late Models at the Myrtle Beach Speedway. Myrtle Beach is located just west of the Coastal Grand Strand in South Carolina and this race proved to be a tough task for the young driver. Even veteran racers typically struggle with the 1/2 mile track as the old worn out asphalt chews up tires and even some drivers, but while Oleen didn't have the perfect weekend, he made the most of it and came away as one of the shining stars of the race.

This race featured 42-cars, which was a huge starting field for a Limited Late Model race and Oleen found himself qualifying 22nd, which put him right in the middle of all the action. The young Maryland driver however kept his nose clean while many of the other drivers found themselves getting caught up in crashes. Oleen soldiered on throughout a crazy 100-lap race and managed to save his tires throughout the event and when the time came to show what he had, he showed the field that he was for real. Oleen cashed in on having some fresh tires near the end of the race and took home a fifth place finish and that was something he knew he could be proud of.

"I think we've had some really good runs so far in these cars," said Oleen after picking up the fifth place finish at Myrtle Beach Speedway. "Everyone's right about how tough and competitive they say this kind of racing is, but I guess I've been lucky to be in the best equipment out there. I know that every time I hit the track, I have as good of a shot as anyone else out there and that I could win if everything went right and that's a good feeling."

For Oleen his experiences in Late Model Stock Car type cars this season has led him to sign on with FDJ Motorsports for a full time run next season at the toughest short track as far as competition on the east coast, Motor Mile Speedway.

"Next year is going to be exciting, I mean going to Motor Mile Speedway is going to be tough, but I've got Frank Deiny and his team to keep me going in the right direction. As a young driver doing this for the first time, I feel like I've got a huge advantage by having Frank with me and his experience and knowledge especially at Motor Mile will be key to my success," continued Oleen.

Oleen was supported this past season by Oleen Pinnacle Healthcare, PitFit Training and Pete Biagioni as well as PUA Training at the Martinsville Limited Late Model race.
