RACE22.com Website Designed, Hosted & Maintained by RACE22.com Website Designed, Hosted & Maintained by RACE22.com Rockingham, NC ~ The worst kept secret in racing is finally out officially as the UARA-STARS quietly announced the addition of a race on the One mile track of Rockingham Motor Speedway, formerly known as North Carolina Motor Speedway. The once legendary track that hosted NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events up until just a few years ago will now host the UARA-STARS Late Model Stock Car touring series as a companion event to one of two ARCA Racing Series events. The race will take place on Saturday, April 18th on the same day as qualifying for the ARCA Series, a national touring series with qualifying for the UARA-STARS series on Friday, April 17th. On November 25th, the UARA-STARS took two of the series veterans including series wins leader, Jamey Caudill and two-time Bristol Motor Speedway winner, Alex Yontz, to Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, NC for a test to see how the cars would perform on the large track as well as test a tire by Goodyear to make sure it would hold up for competition on the high speed facility. Yontz and Caudill were both very excited about how the cars performed and are both looking to become the first driver to win a Late Model Stock Car race on the one-mile superspeedway.
The UARA-STARS Series is excited to be the first to stage a Late Model Stock Car race at Rockingham Speedway and looks for big things to come as the series continues to expand and grow and become more than just a Saturday night race track. |
