Welcome, NC ~ Richard Childress' grandson, Austin Dillon is well on his way to NASCAR racing stardom, but his little brother, Ty is getting ready to take the next step in his career as he's set to make his first Late Model Stock Car start.
The younger Dillon will be running the Seneca 400 this weekend at Myrtle Beach Speedway and he'll be behind the wheel a Tom Pistone owned Pistone LTO Chevrolet Impala. Pistone is excited about the opportunity to be a part of Dillon's rise up the racing ladder.
"We look forward to racing this weekend with Ty. He has proven to be a winner in other divisions already and shows remarkable talent. I am proud to say that we will share a small part of Ty's career as he rises through the different levels of racing," said Pistone.
The Pistone LTO chassis will be powered by a Billy Banks Racing Engine and will have shocks from the new division of Performancenter Racing Warehouse, builders of the
Pistone LTO chassis, MX3 Shocks by Matt McCall.
Look for the younger Dillon to make his first Late Model Stock Car start if first he can make the field for the Seneca
400 with over 100 cars expected to time trial for the what many look at as the second biggest Late Model Stock Car race in the country.
Dillon's brother, Austin ran some Late Model Stock Car races last year before moving straight into the NASCAR Camping World East Series this season, where he won the first race of the season and recently finished in the top five in a NASCAR Nationwide Series event. A progression much like Austin's is expected for Ty's career and the Seneca 400 will be the first step in this progression.
