Myrtle Beach, SC ~ NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver and 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year candidate, Chad McCumbee will return home to Myrtle Beach Speedway for the Seneca 400 and will drive for Sommer Motorsports.

NASCAR Nationwide Series driver, Kevin Hamlin drove the Sommer Motorsports Late Model at Martinsville in the Bailey's 300, but was unable to make the field with a very poor showing in a brand new car.  Sommer
Motorsports owned by Cody Sommers, an employee of Chip Ganassi Racing.  Sommers hopes the problems with the car at Martinsville will be corrected and that he can help put McCumbee up front on his home track.

McCumbee is highly anticipated as being the driver to replace Kyle Petty in the #45 Petty Enterprises car for 2009 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, but that announcement hasn't been made yet. McCumbee will be coming fresh off a full season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series where he finished 11th in points following the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
