Caudill FAST in Tesing at SNRP Welcome to RACE22.com ... The Home of Late Model Stock Car Racing ... RACE22.com Website Designed, Hosted & Maintained by RACE22.com Website Designed, Hosted & Maintained by RACE22.com Kenly, NC ~ RACE22.com will be "At the Track" again this weekend for the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Raceway Park as Wesley Outland will be covering the latest news for us. Today, Outland was out digging up information as nearly 30 Late Model Stock Cars hit the track for a little testing before taking to the track tomorrow for qualifying. To no one's surprise, Seneca 400 winner, Jamey Caudill is the fastest car on the 4/10 mile track that he used to call home. Caudill, who is a former track champion and last week captured one of his biggest career wins in the Seneca 400 at Myrtle Beach Speedway is the obvious favorite heading into this weekends "Thanksgiving Classic". Caudill was very fast, but there were a few other cars nipping at his heels during the test session including Cliff Daniels, who last year in this very event made it in the race through a heat race, then made it all the way up to fourth position before the race was over. Daniels is one of the fastest cars at the track and this young driver, who has a run a limited schedule is looking to cap off his season with a win in one of th biggest races of the season. Daniels last year crashed his car on Thanksgiving Classic race weekend, but rain forced the race to be postponed and Daniels got a second chance. He took his car immediately to the Marlowe Racing Chassis shop and Greg Marlowe and his crew got the car back ready for the team to pick up late in the week, the team then completed getting the car back in race ready shape and they hit the Southern National Raceway. Daniels started at the tail-end of the field for one of the heat races, made it into the field and had one of the best cars in the feature race. Daniels carried that car to a fourth place finish behind winner, Denny Hamlin, second place finisher, Drew Herring and third place finisher, Davin Scites. Other fast cars included Fat Head Racing driver/owner, Jamie Yelton as well as his driver this weekend, Steven Wallace, NASCAR Nationwide Series driver and son of NASCAR on ESPN Analyst, Rusty Wallace. Matt DiBenedetto reportedly turned in some good lap times while driving the Mitch West Racing car, the same car he put in the top ten in qualifying last week at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Another car DiBenedetto has been known to drive, the Steve DeWalt Dodge car this weekend will be driven by part-time NASCAR Nationwide Series driver, Cale Gale. With around 30 Late Model Stock Cars showing up today, the field is expected to be small by "big race" standards, but very strong and very competitive as the best of the best Late Model Stock Car racers are at the track for the "Thanksgiving Classic".
