High Point, N.C.(September 4, 2010) - After seeing a 30 point lead in the Late Model Stock points standings at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, North Carolina fall down into the single digits following an incident with a fellow competitor resulting in a busted radiator, Travis Swaim now finds himself looking at the two final races of the season with an eight point leader over Jason York.

This past Saturday night, Swaim took to the track in hopes to regain some of his points lead and did in fact gain a bit of ground and momentum as he was able to take another great handling car and finish on the podium in second place just ahead of title contender York. "We probably could of gotten on up there and contended for the win but Dan(Moore) just had us beat on the handling side," said Swaim after the race. "The good thing is we beat Jason(York) and put a couple more points between me and him."

Heading into this weekend Swaim is looking at a fairly stacked schedule as he not only hopes to get his second consecutive championship at Caraway but also break the Bowman Gray Stadium stranglehold on the top five in the North Carolina standings for the Whelen All-American Series. This weekend, Swaim will compete in another 150 lap Late Model Stock event at Caraway followed by an off week before the final 150 lap race on September 18th.

"It will definitely be a fight to the very end," said Swaim. "I hope it comes down to straight up me versus Jason(York), I don't want to see this championship get decided either way by a wreck or some sort of mechanical failure."

But while Swaim is focused on winning this championship, he is also already looking forward to the annual "big race season" which comes after tracks have completed their weekly points competitions. Set on racing in big shows at Martinsville Speedway, the Virginia Is For Racing Lovers 300 on October 3rd, as well as at his home track Caraway, the Mid-Atlantic Championship 250 lap event on October 16th-17th. Swaim also is holding open the possibility of a trip "south of the border" to Myrtle Beach Speedway for the Myrtle Beach 400 on November 18th-21st.

Swaim is supported by Mercer Race Car Engineering, Pistone LTO Chassis, Clark's Automotive and WP Racing Shocks. For more information on Travis Swaim please visit his website www.tswaim.com or contact him via RACE22.com Driver Management at (276) 613.4208.
