High Point, NC(June 2, 2010) -- Travis Swaim returned to his home track of Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC this past Saturday night for twin 75 lap races as he continues to chase down his second straight track championship. Leading the points going into the night and coming off a strong debut at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA Swaim felt extremely confident going into the night's races.

As practice went on Swaim felt that his car was re-adjusting to Caraway quite well but wasn't exactly what he wanted just yet. Right before qualifying a handful of adjustments were made to the car that really gave Swaim what he was looking for and it showed as he set quicktime winning the pole for the night's first feature race.

After Caraway's mandatory redraw of the top six qualifiers Swaim would line up third for the first feature race and would maintain that position for a while during the opening circuits of the race. At about the half way point of the first 75 lap event, Swaim moved his way into the second spot on the track and began to set his sights on the lead.

With about 25 to go Swaim caught and passed the leader taking over the point for the first time on the night. After making the pass Swaim put his car into cruise mode taking the victory while saving some rubber on his tires for the second feature of the night. Swaim would need all the tire he could have as the track inverted the top six for the second feature lining Swaim up on the outside of row number three for the start.

Swaim didn't feel as confident going into the second race knowing how much he used his car winning race number one and didn't know how he'd recover from the sixth place starting spot. But as the race went green Swaim quickly began gaining spots on the track reigniting his confidence in his chances. About every 10 laps or so it seemed that Swaim was catching another car and passing them for position.

With 20 to go Swaim found himself within challenging distance from the leader and knew this was his opportunity to earn the night sweep. After being run hard by the leader for several laps Swaim was able to work his way down to the bottom and past for the lead and eventually the win. The wins on the night were Swaim's third and fourth of the season of the nine races run so far at Caraway.

"It's always great to return to the home track after traveling and being able to earn not just one but two wins," said Swaim following the second feature. " This really helps solidify us as not only the leading contender for the track championship but also as one of the front runners to repeat as state champion."

The wins put some extra points between Swaim and second place Jason York extending the lead to 30 points with Ryan Wilson in third 40 points back of Swaim. The races also continued Swaim's perfect run the season of being in the top 5 at the end of every event at Caraway Speedway. Next up for Swaim is a week off before returning to Caraway for a 150 lap Late Model Stock race on June 12.
