Travis Swaim is a easily recognized name in the world of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Car racing and it well it should be with, the driver accumulating 30 career victories and three track championships.
Add to that his NASCAR Whelen All-American Series North Carolina State Championship in 2009 and 38 career pole awards and you can easily see why when Travis shows up at any race track in the region, he's looked at as one of the favorites. Travis has built his reputation with hard work and a dedication to excellence that shows everytime his familiar black number twenty-one car hits the track.
In 2009 he added six wins to that career total with five at his home track of Caraway Speedway and a lone victory at Tri-County Motor Speedway in just a handful of starts there. His Tri-County victory came in the track's final race and came at a most critical time as he was trying to close the gap in the chase for the NASCAR North Carolina State Championship.
Swaim's win put him in perfect position to lay claim to the NASCAR North Carolina State title and with just one day left, he traveled to Hickory Motor Speedway and added a top five finish to his NASCAR points season. Travis also put together a strong run in both the Bailey's 300 at Martinsville Speedway and the Myrtle Beach 250 at Myrtle Beach Speedway in post season "big races".
In 2010, Travis will continue his Late Model Stock Car short track racing career with the same work ethic and dedication to excellence that has brought him his three Caraway Speedway, Late Model Stock Car titles and most recently the NASCAR North Carolina State Championship.
