High Point, NC (April 21, 2010) -- Travis Swaim went into this past weekend's twin 75-lap races at Caraway Speedway in a familiar position as the three-time and defending track champion was once again atop the track's Late Model Stock point standings.

Swaim went into the weekend with a target on his back from not only being the defending track champion but also having had swept the track's previous twin race night on March 20th. But Swaim was ready to take on all challengers, placing himself second in time trials.

Having had won the previous race Swaim was relegated to a sixth place starting position per Caraway Speedway rules. Swaim had a car that felt great and ran fast but with insufficient time to mount a challenge on the leader Swaim had to settle for a second place finish in the first 75-lap

feature of the day.

Due to an invert of the top six from race number one, Swaim once again found himself starting in row number three this time on the inside in the fifth position. The car was very fast for Swaim but after having worked his way from fifth up into the second position once again he found himself without sufficient time to mount a real challenge for the win.

"If we could have had a caution at the end we would have had a good shot at the win but by the time I got to second the leader was just too far ahead of us," said Swaim. "It's really frustrating to have to start fifth or sixth because of a track rule when the race is only 75-laps, but you have to play the hand that your dealt."

Swaim who is supported by Mercer Race Car Engineering, Pistone LTO Chassis, Clark's Automotive and WP Racing Shocks will be making one of many appearances at the Hickory Motor Speedway either this weekend or next weekend with his home track, Caraway, being on a three week break from Late Model Stock competition.
