#11 -- Marty Ward/Greenville(15)

Marty Ward simply doesn't get the respect he deserves ... He's one of the most dominant drivers in the history of Late Model Stock Cars.  His reign ranks right up there with Philip Morris, but unlike Morris who dominates the ultra-competitive Motor Mile Speedway, Ward is the dominator of the much overlooked, Greenville Pickens Speedway.  Either way, Ward is one of the best right now and for that matter one of the best all-time drivers.

#10 -- Greg Edwards/Langley(n/r)

CE Falk has owned Langley Speedway for the last two seasons, but recently Greg Edwards has reclaimed the track once owned by he and his brother Danny.  Greg has been on a roll claiming four wins in a row in recent weeks and shutting Falk out of victory lane until the most recent set of twins, when a blown engine kept him out of victory lane and allowed Falk to regain his footing.  Greg Edwards only needs to hit a few other tracks and run well to be among the elite in LMSC racing.

#9 -- Stacy Puryear/SoBo(8)

Stacy Puryear may have only one win this season, but he's certainly shown his strength this season competing full time at South Boston Speedway and making cameo appearances at Orange County, Langley and Motor Mile.  With the win at South Boston and consistent top fives, he also finished in 5th at Langley in the big Hampton Heat race, a strong run at Orange County and an impressive performance at Motor Mile, Stacy should easily be higher on this list.

#8 -- Brandon Dean/Motor Mile(14)

Brandon Dean has deserved to be among the top ten or maybe the top five on these Power Rankings, but without a win it was hard to justify it.  After he scored his first win in dramatic fashion over Motor Mile dominator Philip Morris, he's finally officially earned his place among the best of the best in Late Model Stock Cars.  Dean could easily find himself rising on this list with a little more time in victory lane.

#7 -- Lee Pulliam/SoBo(20)

Lee Pulliam hasn't always got the attention he's deserved ... he's a top notch Late Model Stock Car racer that is finding his footing and his place among the best.  Lee's always been impressive at South Boston and on the heels of winning three of the last five races there and an impressive first start at Motor Mile Speedway he's opening people's eyes.  Lee may easily find himself rising this list if he can perform in the season ending "big races".

#6 -- Andy Mercer/Hickory(7)

Andy Mercer has easily been Hickory's dominator over the last few years, but this season he's been met with stiffer competition and a tougher time.  Andy has persevered through the stiffer competition and picked up six victories this season and while the next closest driver, Kyle Mansch has five wins.  Mercer and Mansch have recently tangled and find themselves in a rivalry, which will eventually show who the man to beat is.

#5 -- Rodney Cook/Ace(5)

Rodney Cook has easily owned Ace Speedway this season, collecting eight wins already and having the points all but in hand.  His fiercest challenger has been Dustin Rumley with three wins this season, but Cook has really shown his strength on the tough 4/10 mile track.  Cook also currently leads the ASA National points standings and looks to be a top contender for that National Title.  The only reason Cook doesn't find himself further up this list is his lack of performance at other regional tracks.

#4 -- Wayne Ramsey/Motor Mile(3)

Wayne Ramsey is the leader of the FDJ Army at Motor Mile Speedway this season with four wins besting his teammate, Justin Johnson, who races Motor Mile only part time by one victory.  Wayne looks to be also headed to becoming the Motor Mile Speedway track champion as he currently leads the points.  It's an impressive season considering that he never intended on running the entire season and set out to be the Research and Development driver for FDJ Motorsports.

#3 -- Philip Morris/Motor Mile(6)

There's no doubt that Philip Morris will go down as one of the greatest Late Model Stock Car drivers ever, but this season Philip's stranglehold over Motor Mile Speedway has went away.  Philip's boycott of Motor Mile only lasted a few races and for good reason as the veteran driver found himself not as competitive as he'd hoped at South Boston Speedway and left there without a victory.  Philip is one of the greats, but at this point in his career his moves are making him look like a one-track wonder.

#2 -- CE Falk/Langley(2)

CE Falk nearly found himself slipping from his perch in second on the Power Rankings, where he once found himself leading.  Falk lost four straight races on his home track and honestly could have lost six in a row if not for a blown engine by Greg Edwards.  Falk's stranglehold on Langley is gone, but the young driver is likely to repeat as champion on the heels of bad luck by a few of his competitors.  It's time for Falk to step it up as "big race" season approaches and he leaves his nest at Langley Speedway.

#1 -- Justin Johnson/SoBo(1)

Despite being disqualified from a recent race at South Boston, Justin Johnson easily keeps himself atop the Power Rankings for the month of August.  Justin has eight victories at South Boston and three at Motor Mile and is well on his way to repeating as champion at South Boston and the only strike against him is avoiding a return trip to Motor Mile Speedway because of the additional weight he'll have to carry for winning two in a row.  Johnson's still "The Man" in Late Model Stock Car racing for 2010, but he needs to make sure that he doesn't slip during "big race" season.
