Limited Late Model Coverage to Expand on RACE22.com
Salisbury, NC(August 12, 2010) -- RACE22.com has been all about Late Model Stock Car racing since making the move to "All Late Model Stock Cars! All the Time!" in September of 2007.
Moving to all Late Models in 2007 was a big change for the website, it was a bold move considering the amount of other racing divisions competing throughout the area and while we've from time to time covered Super Late Models, Modifieds, Limiteds and other divisions, we've remained with that focus for the last three years. The winds of change have already been blowing at RACE22.com as the Headquarters for the website was recently moved from Wytheville, VA to the heart of racing, just outside Mooresville, NC in Salisbury.
Other changes are being planned, but RACE22.com is going to remain focused on Late Model Stock Cars, but will be adding additional Limited Late Model coverage as you may have noticed lately. It was a move that just made sense as over the last year the Limiteds have been making more and more noise with bigger and bigger events around the region.
"It's a no-brainer honestly," said RACE22.com General Manager, Langley Austin. "Limited Late Models and Late Model Stock Cars are so similar, utilizing the same chassis', same type of engines and can run either division with simple changes. And, with the bigger events like Martinsville and Myrtle Beach last year and the bigger races this season with the addition of the SouthEast Limited Late Model Series, we just thought the time is right."
You may have noticed this season that we've had much more Limited Late Model coverage including LIVE Coverage of the stand alone South East Limited Late Model Series Inaugural event at Florence on Sunday, July 4th. Plus, recently as we've added Video Interviews from the Late Model Stock Car races, we're doing the same for the Limited Late Models as we had this past weekend for Ace Speedway's 40-lap Limited race and the Twin 50-lap races from Motor Mile Speedway.
There's certainly more to come for Limited Late Model racing as well as we plan to do LIVE Coverage for many more Limited Late Model races included tenatively the remainder of the SouthEast Limited Late Model schedule with the next race scheduled for Ace Speedway on September 24th and 25th. Expect plenty more Limited Late Model coverage than you're used to seeing on RACE22.com and be sure to check out our FaceBook page for updates from Limited and Late Model Stock Car races from around the region each weekend.
Another major step in covering Limited Late Model racing will be the addition of Limited Late Model Power Rankings, which will be featured monthly on RACE22.com beginning with the August 2010 rankings, which will debut on the website next week. The Limited Late Model Power Rankings will be much like the Weekly Track Power Rankings for the Late Model Stock Cars, but will feature weekly track drivers as well as drivers from the SouthEast Limited Late Model tour.
Don't worry though, if you're a big fan of Late Model Stock Car racing as this won't take away from the Late Model Stock Car racing, but instead enhance it and bring you more original stories from races from around the region and giving exposure to more racers.
"The Limited Late Models have evolved a lot in the last year or two," continued Austin. "There was a time when you wouldn't see a Limited driver travel much, but now you see guys like Gary Ledbetter and Ryan Glenski show up just about anywhere and that's one of the things that gives Limited racing such an appeal for us. Plus, many Late Model teams have cars they help or own in Limiteds and now everyone within the team will have coverage and not just the stars of Late Model Stock Cars."
Stay tuned to RACE22.com for the most original content offered by any website covering local and regional short track racing and look for even more now from the Limited Late Model division.
