Hampton, VA(August 10, 2010) -- After two weeks of seeing his points lead get cut down by win after win by Greg Edwards, C.E. Falk regained his swagger and swept both wins in twin 75 lap competitions at Langley Speedway. Falk begun his day by laying claim to the pole for the first race with a fast time of 15.823 seconds edging out Kyle Waltz by a mere 0.048 seconds.

On the start Falk quickly gained the advantage over his front row partner and began to set sail on what would be a long green flag run as the Langley drivers continued their recent streak of hard but clean racing. As the field got going positions were being swapped every lap until the field settled into single file formation as the laps ticked off the board.

As the laps ticked off the man on the move was the leader's brother Wes Falk as he climbed from his 13th place starting position up into eighth on lap 25. As the leaders began to encounter lap traffic, championship contender Greg Edwards began to make looks on Paul DeBolt. However those moves were brought to an abrupt start as Edwards' motor expired on lap 35 bringing an early end to his race.

The only caution of the first race came on lap 64 as just after Wes Falk had cleared Woody Howard to take over the fifth spot contact from Howard sent Falk for a spin on the exit of turn two bringing his run to the front to an end. On the restart leader C.E. Falk got on the throttle quick and cleared second place Paul DeBolt going into turn 1. As the final laps ticked off the board, many positions changed hands with the exception of the lead as Falk had checked out.

At the end of the first 75 laps C.E. Falk returned to victory lane for the first time since the Hampton Heat 200 and claimed his seventh win of the season. Danny Edwards Jr., finished second followed by Woody Howard, Paul DeBolt and rookie Brandon Gdovic. Greg Edwards was scored as finishing 18th in the final rundown dropping him back to third in points 50 markers behind Falk and six behind new second place Woody Howard.

The field would start straight up as they finished race one with Greg Edwards dropping to the rear of the field in his back up car. Once again, C.E. Falk earned the advantage on the opening lap but this green flag run would not last as long as the first as the first lap was completed a seven car pile up was triggered in the entrance of turn 1. Terry Carroll, Kyle Waltz, Greg Edwards, Rick Gdovic, Mitch Sarvis, Dean and Jeff Shiflett were all involved in the wreck.

Back to green the field got back to clean green flag racing with Falk still showing the way up front. As the field continued to put laps on the board multiple positions changed hands with the top five having a different look at the half way point as Woody Howard ran runner up followed by Brandon Gdovic, Mark Wertz and Danny Edwards Jr.

The green flag run would continue until lap 61 when a battle for position would turn awry when contact from Mark Wertz would send Brandon Gdovic. Gdovic would pull up under the caution laps and express his displeasure as the contact happened just as Gdovic was closing in on Woody Howard for second place.

Green came back out on the track with 14 laps left to determined the finish. C.E. Falk once again motored out front as the scramble ensued for the rest of the spots in the top five. Greg Edwards had climbed his way back up from his 18th starting position up to third and began to set his sights on the second spot which belonged to Howard while Gdovic looked to reclaim some of the spots he lost after the spin.

Gdovic made quick work of moving back past Wertz and moving into fourth on the leader board while Edwards continued his battle with Howard, a battle he would eventually win with only two laps remaining. But at the front it was all C.E. Falk claiming his eighth win of the season over Greg Edwards with Woody Howard, Brandon Gdovic completing the top five at the finish.

With the pair of wins, C.E. Falk moves back comfortably into the points lead by 44 over Woody Howard with Greg Edwards in third 52 markers back. With only three races remaining in the season it is easy to speculate that this is Falk's championship to lose but we'll all have to stay tuned and see what happens as the season comes to a close for the Langley Speedway Late Model Stocks in a mere two weeks.
