Hampton, VA(August 17, 2010) -- One week after seeing engine troubles caused him another huge set back in his chase for a third track championship, Greg Edwards pulled his number 21 machine back into victory lane after a hard fought battle with points leader C.E. Falk.

C.E. Falk earned the pole position in qualifying laying down a lap of 15.991 seconds at 88.925 miles per hour beating out Greg Edwards by nearly two tenths with Paul DeBolt, Woody Howard and Wes Falk rounding out the top five for the start. At the drop of the green Falk and Edwards would get single-file and begin to break away from third place DeBolt.

Lap 14 brought the first caution of the race as Casey Wyatt went for a spin in turn 4 while battling for position. As the field went back green, C.E. Falk and Greg Edwards restarted their battle for the lead while Wes Falk and Danny Edwards Jr., both cleared Woody Howard to move into fourth and fifth respectively.

Around lap 23 Edwards began to make some serious challenges on Falk for the lead, challenges that were not only serious but aggressive as Edwards began to use a bit of the bumper on Falk in his attempts to find a hole on the inside. Edwards would eventually find a hole and take the lead on lap 26 with DeBolt tagging along to take over second place.

Lap 31 brought the second caution of the day as Mark Wertz found himself going for a spin after some contact at the start/finish line. Officials were paying close attention to Wertz and Wyatt as it appeared each had helped the other in their respective spins. More positions would change hands on the restart as C.E. Falk moved back past DeBolt into second while Danny Edwards Jr., and Brandon Gdovic moved past Wes Falk to move into fourth and fifth bumping Falk out of the top five for the first time all race.

As the race past halfway, Greg Edwards still enjoyed a three car length lead over Falk as the two had once again put much separation between themselves and third place DeBolt. The third caution came out on lap 84 as Rick Gdovic, Jeff Shiflett and Woody Howard went three wide in turns 3 and 4 as Howard was trying to quickly pass the lapped cars of Gdovic and Shiflett but contact from Howard to Shiflett caused him to go for a quick spin in the middle of the turns.

Under the caution there was a bit of extra curricular door smacking going on down the back stretch between Wertz and Wyatt who were still mad at each other over earlier incidents. On the restart, the two made contact on the entry of turn 3 sending both sliding into the outside wall. Wyatt would be the first to pull away but as he came down the backstretch Wertz quickly got back on his throttle and made his anger apparent as he drove at Wyatt nearly making contact with the driver's side.

On the final green flag run, Greg Edwards was able to drive away as C.E. Falk and Paul DeBolt battled hard for second with Falk fending off the challenges. At the line Edwards was the winner by almost a second over Falk with Danny Edwards Jr., making a last corner pass over DeBolt to take third. Brandon Gdovic looked to follow Edwards to the inside of DeBolt but DeBolt beat him to the line by just about a tenth for fourth.

Now with only a pair of 75 lap races left on the 2010 schedule for the Langley Speedway Late Model Stocks C.E. Falk will head in with a 50 point lead to protect over Greg Edwards with Woody Howard in third 54 points out of the lead. In another close points battle Wes Falk currently holds onto fifth with Mark Wertz only 12 points back. Stay tuned to find out who comes out on top at Langley Speedway this Saturday night.
