Kyle Moon To Drive for Tamco Motorsports at FCS

Story By: Langley Austin

Wytheville, VA ~ Tamco Motorsports hasn't competed in an event since the 2007 season finale for the UARA-STARS in November, but they'll be back on the track this weekend at Franklin County Speedway.

Tam Topham, owner of Tamco Motorsports will field a car Saturday night for UARA-STARS regular, Kyle Moon of Mount Ulla, NC. Moon has struggled all season long with a season best finish of only 11th in the season opening event at Concord Motorsport Park in Concord, NC. Moon and his car owner and father, Bob Moon decided last week to make a change

atleast temporarily to see what the problem with their performance has been or atleast hopes to change their luck, which this season has been terrible.

"We've struggled all season. When we've had good cars something would break and when everything stayed together we just wasn't that fast, it was time to try something different," said Moon.

This weekend they will be behind of wheel of a Townsend chassis a little different than the Hamke chassis they've been running and will back on a conventional setup instead of either coil-binding or a bump-stop type setup. Moon hopes getting back to the basics is just the thing he needs.

For Tamco Motorsports this is the same race that last year Pennsylvania driver, Todd Goble jumped behind the wheel of the car and qualified sixth and had a top five run going when electrical problems sidelined them midway through the race. Goble went on to run a handful of more races for Tamco before the UARA-STARS Late Model Stock Car Series season ended. Goble's performances in the Tamco ride were some of his best of the season and Moon's hoping for the same kind of results.

"Sometimes making changes helps, for us this is a big change and I just hope it goes smoothly and we can get a top ten and maybe even our first top five finish."

Moon will go test at Motor Mile Speedway Friday in preparation for his debut with Tamco Motorsports on Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway.
