Ross Furr to Sit Out Round Ten of the UARA Tour ...

Concord, NC ~ 2007 UARA-STARS Champion, Ross Furr has had a tough season in trying to defend the championship, but this weekend he's made the toughest decision of his racing career.

Furr will not be at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC when the UARA-STARS Late Model Stock Car series hits the track on Friday, August 1st. Furr has been forced to make this decision due to the state of the economy for Furr's family business ... Real Estate. The real estate industry has come to a screeching halt this year and Furr's racing is feeling the pains.

"Business is just lousy. This is one tough year for the real estate business and it's making life tough on Ross Furr Racing," said Furr, Thursday evening in a phone interview.

Furr is among several of the series top level drivers who are struggling to stay in the series, but Furr says the series has done nothing wrong.

"The UARA gives racers who want to do more than just run around their local track and be a local hero something they can do and with the same cars. The series is having a good season and they

deserve it and the competition is tougher than ever."

Furr says that he feels that the UARA is at the top of their game and he hates not to be there racing with them this weekend.

"I hate to miss it; the UARA is strong right now and we've got to get up on our game and get our cars fixed up from wrecks earlier this season and get our engines refreshed. We're going to do that and hopefully we'll make it back at Franklin County; we almost won that one last year and I think we can this year."

For Furr he'll be doing the worst thing a race car driver can do while the rest of the series is at Ace Speedway tomorrow he'll be out working ... you know a real job and no race car driver wants that.

"It's going to be tough to be out on the job site tomorrow and know that I'm supposed to be out on the track. We'll be back and they'll know we're there when we get back."
