Rockingham, NC (May 16th, 2010) - After dominating the last two USAR Pro Cup Series races at Hickory and New Smyrna, Clay Rogers didn't come home with the victory. Saturday Rogers looked to turn his luck around at the Rockingham Speedway. After sitting on the pole for the two hundred lap event with a lap of 25.614. Long time series veteran Jeff Agnew would time in second and the winner of the last two races Caleb Holman would qualify third.

Rogers would pull out to a huge lead on the start over Agnew. After starting fifth Benny Gordon quickly moved his way up to the second spot over Agnew and looked to hunt down Rogers who had now pulled a straightaway lead over the battle for second and third.

Young Stephen Nasse who started tenth for the two hundred lap event was also on the pull through the top ten. By lap twenty five Nasse was already up to the fourth position and looking to take third from Agnew. Nasse would set his sights on second spot and quickly move past Gordon for second.

The first caution would come out on lap forty five when Nasse pounded the turn one wall. After talking with the crew it was determined that something broke on the car that ultimately ended his day just forty five laps in to the race.

On the lap fifty restart, Rogers would pull out to a six car length lead over Gordon. That would be the largest the gap from first to second would get on this run as it appeared Rogers wasn't pushing his car to the full limits

Hickory winner Caleb Holman would go up in smoke on lap sixty two going into turn one, Holman lost a motor and was done for the day. The leaders now decided it was time to come down pit road and take on tires. The USAR series doesn't allow teams to fill their cars with fuel and change tires on the same stop. So the leaders came down a second time to add fuel.

AJ Frank had now assumed the lead by staying out under the caution. With the restart on lap seventy, Frank cleared the lap traffic to the inside before turn one and now had to deal with Matt Lofton from behind.

Clay Rogers was now charging through the field to get back to the front. Taking second from Lofton and now running down the leader of Franks.

Rogers would assume the lead on lap seventy four with Matt Lofton following him past Frank on lap seventy six.

Benny Gordon would have to battle his way past JP Morgan and Jeff Agnew for the third position. He would take the spot on lap ninety five and set his sights on Lofton and Rogers.

At halfway, Rogers had a full straighaway lead over Lofton. Gordon was third, Agnew and JP Morgan was your top five with one hundred laps to go.

The USAR officials found debris on the track on lap one hundred and fifteen. The leaders would hit pit road for tires and gas. Lofton would take over the top spot after the stops. Benny Gordon was now second, Rogers third, Agnew and Morgan.

The lap one hundred and twenty restart had Lofton jump out to a good size lead as Jeff Agnew worked over Rogers for third. Gordon and Agnew quickly moved by race leader Lofton on lap one twenty three.

Clay Rogers and Benny Gordon would now battle for the lead with Rogers taking it away on lap one fifty seven. Both would battle for numerous laps on the high side of the race track. Gordon would beat Rogers back to the stripe on lap one fifty nine.

Gordon would get into Rogers coming off turn four just a few laps later but both cars continued on trucking on the high side.

We were shaping up to have a hell of a good finish when the USAR officials once again decided to find debris on the race track and ruin that hope.

Lap one seventy four pits stops under the caution saw Gordon slide through his pit box and lose two positions to Rogers. This ultimately was what lost Gordon the race over Rogers.

On the restart, Rogers pulled away from the field and never looked back. Crossing the finish line to take the Carolina 200 presented by Black's Tire and Auto. Benny Gordon crossed the stripe 10.576 second behind the winner. Third would goto Jeff Agnew. Matt Lofton crossed the line fourth and John Gibson fifth.

In post race tech inspection, Matt Lofton was disqualified from his fourth place finish. He was relegated back to the twenty second position.

The USAR Pro Cup Series returns to action May 29th at the Langley Speedway in Hampton, VA. The Rockingham Speedway returns to action October 9th and 10th with the American 200. The UARA-STARS Series and the ARCA Racing Series will crown their respective champions at "The ROCK!"

Pit Row Radio will be back at the track with their next live broadcast of the PASS 150 at the ACE Speedway in Altamhaw, NC. Alan Dietz, Tiff Daniels and Steve Bullard will have the call of the race on www.pitrowradio.com
