Hampton, VA(April 20, 2010) -- The second 100 lap race of the season at Langley Speedway, the teams would get greeted by a light dusting of rain, soaking the track and washing away a bit of the rubber that had been built up in the corners.

Possibly as a result of that loss of rubber everyone seemed to be on a even plane in qualifying as the top 11 cars in qualifying were only separated by about 0.163 seconds with CE Falk winning his second overall pole of 2010 with a 15.982 second lap.

As the field got lined up to go green Falk lined up on the inside row with Greg Edwards on his outside followed by Brandon Gdovic and Danny Edwards in row number two. As they went green, Falk jumped out to the early lead with brothers Greg and Danny Edwards slipping into second and third respectively.

Five laps into the run Falk and Greg Edwards had put about half a straightaway distance between themselves and third place Danny Edwards. Unfortunately for Brandon Gdovic he found early race struggles dropping behind Paul DeBolt, Wes Falk and Mark Wertz to fall into the eighth position by lap 15.

The opening green flag run would last a very long time as the field ran clean and green for the opening 88 laps which saw Falk flexing every muscle he had leaving only the top seven cars on the lead lap at the time of the first caution for Robbie Babb's spin on the entrance of turn three.

But as they say, cautions breed cautions and with the new double-file restarts at Langley Speedway that saying was more than true for the first restart of this race as on the exit of turn two the cars of Paul DeBolt, Danny Edwards and Mark Wertz went three wide resulting in DeBolt making hard contact with the outside wall in turn three bringing his day to an early end.

As they took the green for the second restart of the race Falk and Greg Edwards continued to run first and second but the man on the move was Woody Howard who scooted past Wertz and Danny Edwards on lap 90 to move into third before the caution reappeared for Dude Gibbs spin. One more caution would appear on the ensuing restart setting the stage for a 10 lap sprint to the finish with a single file restart.

As they went back green Falk continued to flex his muscles gaining a slim margin over Greg Edwards who immediately got distracted by Howard making a challenge for second. Falk would cruise on to the victory followed by Greg Edwards, Woody Howard and Danny Edwards. Mark Wertz slipped by Wes Falk in the closing laps to take the final spot in the top five.

"I was just trying to ride and save the tires the best I could," said Falk about the opening 88 lap green flag run. "The old 40 car got it done tonight. I'm just really proud of my crew, we had a bad week last week, but we rebounded and showed the champions that we are."
