BAD LUCK BITES ROSS FURR RACING FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT RACE AT HMS

Concord, NC ~ To say that Ross Furr has had a tough 2008 season would be an understatement as the defending UARA-STARS Series champion has averaged a finish of only 21.2 in the five races since his season opening win at Concord Motorsport Park.

Furr's season has been a complete reverse of the season he had a year ago where he seemingly could do no wrong after missing race one at ironically Hickory Motor Speedway, the track where he found himself with a DNF this weekend after an early race crash.  In 2007 Furr competed in 15 of the 16 races ultimately winning the championship on the final lap of the season finale and averaging a 5th place finish.  Turn the page to 2008 his average finish has been a 17.83 including his win in the season opener.

Despite the statistics, Furr and the Ross Furr Racing Team has been contenders every week often finding themselves in the top ten in practice times only to qualify outside the top fifteen and either have mechanical problems or getting involved in a crash not of his own making while racing inside the top ten.  Furr has been working hard to get his luck turned around and will continue to do so as the series heads into race number seven at Coastal Plains Raceway in Jacksonville, NC.

Furr is also excited to get back to Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 5th to try an avenge his terrible showing where he pulled out a back up car just before qualifying and qualified 25th.  His finish was almost as bad as he received body damage early in the race and later cut down a tire giving him a 23rd place finish.  Last season in two races he averaged a finish of 4.5 and he's looking to get back to his game as the series heads back to this prestigious track once again.
