Mooresville, NC ~ Davin Scites of Wayne, West Virginia was very successful in 2007 and that success caught the eye of one his famous friends, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Scites, who has been running his Late Model Stock Car operation out of one of Dale Earnhardt, Jr's small shops for the last year and a half caught Earnhardt's attention last year by winning races at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA and Earnhardt knew he needed to be a bigger part of Scites racing efforts.

"Davin is a great race car driver and a great friend," Earnhardt Jr. said. "He worked out of a shop near my house last year and I was impressed with the number of wins he racked up during the season. It seemed like every time I walked into the shop there was anew trophy Davin had won over the weekend."

Success is definately something Davin had a lot of last year with five wins, 15 top fives and 18 top ten finishes as well as setting a new track record in qualifying for the Bailey's 300 at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA, the "Daytona 500" of Late Model Stock Car racing. Many people believe that success in a Late Model Stock Car won't get you that far, but with this new found association with JR Motorsports, Scites is set to make the most of his LMSC successes.

Scites season will likely start off at the Whitley Truck Equipment 150 in Concord, NC at the Concord Motorsport Park for the season opening event in the UARA-STARS Series, but Scites plans to compete full-time at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA again this season. Scites will pilot the JR Motorsports #06 car with primary sponsorship from Champion Spark Plugs, a world leader in the spark plug manufacturing. Scites also has moved from the small shop near Earnhardt Jr's house to the 66,000 square foot JR Motorsports shop in Mooresville, NC.

Earnhardt, Jr. is also very excited to see Scites wheel the #06 Champion Chevrolet and especially into victory lane.

Davin is also excited to get back on the track and is very excited to be behind the wheel of the Champion Chevrolet this season and may chase the NASCAR points at Motor Mile Speedway.

"I'm so excited to get this season started," stated Scites. "We had a good season last year and Dale(Earnhardt) Jr. needed a driver for one of his sponsors, Champion Spark Plugs and I was honored that he wanted me to be a part of his team. We've been working hard on the car and I'm itching to go racing, I wasn't going to run anything until April 5th at Motor Mile(Speedway), but we may go down and run the UARA-STARS season opener with the rest of the JR Motorsports drivers."

Scites is obviously raring to go and with this new association with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and the JR Motorsports team he'll have all the tools he needs to be the top driver in every race he competes in this season and I won't be surprised if Davin shows the rest of the world the same promise that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. already sees.
