FDJ Motorsports Post Race Power Rankings -- 12 thru 22 Dustin Rumley had a great second half of the 2010 season at Ace Speedway, winning three races and nearly every pole after aquiring a new Marlowe chassis. That streak of strong runs continued in the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 at Martinsville, where he qualified in the show in 15th. After avoiding a heat race, he had a decent run in the race, but couldn't avoid all the crashes and finished 18th. RACE22.com 22nd -- Dustin Rumley(n/r) Justin Johnson's 2010 zest seems to have worn off in the late stages of the season and despite that he was still able to snatch the NASCAR Virginia State Championship. In the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 at Martinsville he was only semi-impressive as he qualified in the show at 13th, but never made any real noise in the 200-lap feature. Johnson has to get his season back on track before SoBo's big race next weekend. 21st -- Justin Johnson(12) Ryan Robertson hasn't been known as one of the drivers to beat in any race, but as "Big Race" season approached this year, he seems to have turned up the wick. Robertson drove the race of his life a week ago to win a SouthEast Limited race, only to be disqualified, but he proved that it wasn't a fluke by turning in a 4th place qualifying effort and then racing in the top ten until a battery problem knocked him out of contention. 19th -- Ryan Robertson(n/r) Tommy Lemons, Jr. made it into the race on time and looked to have a strong run going until he and Paddy Rodenbeck got together ending both drivers day. Tommy's been hit or miss for the majority of this season and the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 was shaping up to be a turning point, but now he'll have to wait until the Danville Toyota 200 at South Boston, where he already has one win this season. 20th -- Tommy Lemons, Jr.(16) John King II probably was among the biggest surprises of the weekend at Martinsville along with Mike Looney and Ryan Robertson. John missed the race, by just one spot and then raced his way into the race easily through the heat race. John then grabbed an 11th place finish in the feature race, by managing to miss almost all the crashes and brought his car home strong. 15th -- John King II(n/r) Brandon Dean may well have had the season of his career at Motor Mile Speedway where he won two races en route to the track championship against the strongest Late Model Stock Car competition anywhere. However, Martinsville was another story as the young driver just couldn't find the speed he needed in qualifying and had to heat race to get in and then only managed a 15th place effort in the feature. 16th -- Brandon Dean(14) CE Falk III has had an incredible season, there's no other way to describe it as he has picked up wins on three different tracks(four if you include the one at South Boston, where he was disqualified). He picked the biggest win of his career at Southside in the Denny Hamlin race, but it seems that Martinsville is his achilles heel as he barely made the show on time in 20th and finish a dismal 17th after never competing for a top spot. 17th -- CE Falk III(11) 18th -- Jeb Burton(n/r) Jeb Burton came into his first career Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 at Martinsville with high hopes, but the young son of former NASCAR driver, Ward Burton, turned in a great performance. Jeb, hadn't had the greatest season, but after qualifying in the show in 11th place, he was able to run competitively until getting caught up in a big crash and only managed a 24th place finish. Stacy Puryear has had an impressive 2010 season, despite not picking up as many wins as he probably thought he could, he still managed one win and top fives consistently at South Boston and a couple impressive runs at Motor Mile. Stacy came into Martinsville with high hopes and while he still had to run a heat race, he was impressive in the feature and after a couple bumps and bruises he came home 20th. 12th -- Stacy Puryear(17) Andy Mercer came into the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 at Martinsville with high expectations and while he wasn't able to turn in the qualifying performance that he though he should have been able to get, he was able to race in through the heat race. Mercer then kept his nose clean as he always seems to be able to do and came home with a 13th place finish in his first race at Martinsville. 13th -- Andy Mercer(20) 14th -- Mike Looney(n/r) Mike Looney wasn't even planning to come to Martinsville for the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300, but after testing pretty solidly in the second test, he decided to race. Now, he's probably glad he did after qualifying fifth for the feature race and not having to heat race. He then turned in a solid performance in the feature race and came home with a tenth place finish in the biggest race of them all. Check Back for Drivers 1 through 11 Later ... |
