FDJ Motorsports Post Race Power Rankings -- 1st thru 11th Brennan Poole's been on a tear in the UARA-STARS Series and while the series isn't as competitive as it once was he's impressed with his ability to dominate a still competitive series. Brennan came into Martinsville as one of the guys to watch and while he didn't get the press some of the Motor Mile & South Boston guys did, he was able to assert himself as one of the cars to beat despite getting taken out early on. RACE22.com 11th -- Brennan Poole(13) Brandon McReynolds came into Martinsville's Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 looking for his third Late Model Stock Car start this season after getting a top five at Southside in Denny Hamlin's charity race and winning the UARA race at Rockingham. Despite his limited seat time this season, McReynolds made people take notice qualifying third and running strong until a stuck throttle crushed his chances. 10th -- Brandon McReynolds(15) If not for missing the top 22 in qualifying and being forced to make the field through one of the four crash-fest heat races, Brandon Butler may well have found himself contending with Philip Morris at the end of this race. Brandon showed great strength coming through the field after starting 25th, but simply used his stuff up trying to get up to the front and had nothing left when it came time to put it all on the line. 8th -- Brandon Butler(8) Davin Scites really deserves to be higher on this list and if not for a disqualification for his intake, he would have collected the money for finishing second in the season's biggest race. This season he missed the pole for the first time in four years and got rid of the "curse of the pole", but couldn't shake his Martinsville bad luck in tech after having a great race to come home second. 9th -- Davin Scites(19) Matt McCall seemed to have everything together this season from his car to the engine department and more as he put himself in place to contend with Philip Morris for the win toward the end of the race. Matt led laps and even was able to hang with Philip when no one else seemed to be able to, but not being able to get up to speed like Philip killed him toward the end and relegated this veteran to a second place finish. 4th -- Matt McCall(6) Jamey Caudill had not been like his old self over the past couple of years in the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300, but this year the veteran seemed to come in poised and ready to challenge like old times. While, Jamey wasn't able to challenge like we've come to expect this veteran with 97 LMSC wins to do, he was strong and finished 4th at the flag, to put his year back on track. 5th -- Jamey Caudill(4) Wayne Ramsey may well have had his best ever shot at a Martinsville Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 trophy, but after qualifying 30th on Saturday, he knew it wouldn't be no easy task to get to the front and show exactly what kind of car he had. Ramsey did race his way into the field through a heat race, but after using his stuff up to get inside the top ten his run to the front stalled out with an 8th place finish for the veteran. 6th -- Wayne Ramsey(7) 7th -- Dennis Setzer(2) Dennis Setzer is another guy that if not for a little bad luck, would have been in the mix at the end of this race, but Dennis used to that as in this race over the years he's either been the guy to beat or loaded up earlier due to bad luck. Dennis was again in the thick of things, but couldn't get to the finish after a cut tire would sideline just past the halfway point and relegate him to a 28th place finish. Philip Morris isn't about to fade away into the night ... his storied career has seen the veteran dominate local Virginia area tracks over the last decade and just because he had an off year we we're quick to write him off. Philip isn't done and he proved that with the most dominating performance in a few years at Martinsville and solidified his status as quite possibly the Best Late Model Stock Car driver of All Time. 1st -- Philip Morris(3) What can you say about Lee Pulliam? He's a guy you have to like, from his down to earth personality to his tenacious on track presence and his award winning smile, he's simply one of the guys you want to see do good. Lee was doing good, sitting on the pole and then leading many laps before finally having a battery problem cause him to fall back. Lee was going to be the guy Philip was going to have to beat and everyone knew he had the best car on Sunday. 2nd -- Lee Pulliam(9) 3rd -- Alex Yontz(1) Alex Yontz is back ... make no mistake about it, this young, veteran Late Model Stock Car driver has his driving career back on track and he proved where he and his team were at when they rolled into Martinsville. Alex went through the last season and a half labeled as the cheater and running with a bad crowd, but now he's back on top of the world and was just an adjustment or two from racing Philip Morris for the win.
