Kyle Moon isn't your average young race car driver today. His father doesn't have unlimited funds to buy him the best equipment, tires for testing and the other things that young drivers have today.  What Kyle does have is a burning desire that flames deep inside him to drive a race car and the determination to win races.
That burning desire and determination first led him to move from his hometown of Troy, New York to Mooresville, NC. It then kept him behind the wheel of a Late Model Stock Car despite nearly no success in his first couple of seasons. All that hard work, dedication and determination paid off in the 2011 season as the youngster put his car and crew in victory lane for the first time at Hickory Motor Speedway, his adopted home track.
The New York native would pick up another win during the season and led the points standings in the top division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, Late Model Stock Car division for much of the 2011 season. Moon still has that burning desire and like all other young racer hopes to make it to the upper levels of NASCAR, but won't have his family money to depend on, but rather his talent.
NASCAR needs drivers with talent and personality and Kyle Moon possesses both attributes.

and a handful of top five finishes all season long.
Those top fives and a couple of wins kept him atop of the points standings at legendary Hickory Motor Speedway for much of the season before circumstances took him out of the running at the end of the season.  Moon didn't give up and was looking for another win in the seasons biggest race, the Dwight Huffman Memorial.
After practicing quick and qualifying ninth, the young driver was looking to go for the win, but a crash took away his chances at victory, but he still managed an eighth place finish, but had to wonder what might have been.
