The young driver really began having success during the 2007 season while racing a full slate of Crate Late Model races in the Fastrak and StormPay.com Series as well as weekly events at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN and Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, VA. He recorded several top five finishes in 2006-2007 in the Crate Late Model events.
On April 29, 2007, King captured his first career pole award for a Fastrak Racing Series National Event at Volunteer Speedway against 42 competitors in attendance and he recorded a fourth place finish. Less than two months later, the young wheel man dominated a Fastrak Racing Series Weekly Event at Wythe Raceway en route to his first career victory.
In the same year, King also competed in the Fastrak Racing Series "Grand Nationals" Event with over 200 drivers from Twenty-two states competing in a three-race National Championship Shoot-Out. The races were held at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL, Mountain Raceway in Maryville, TN and Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN and through the three events, King recorded a top-30 points finish among the 200-drivers entered.

King had some strong runs right out of the box, but a crash at Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, SC derailed his UARA-STARS Series Rookie season. From there, the young driver only competed in a couple more UARA-STARS Series races, but rather spent his time racing at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA and Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA.
In 2010, King has set out to run the entire UARA-STARS Series schedule again and with the purchase of another car, he can now be sure that he can compete in all 16-races.
