RUSTY HARPE MEMORIAL

Wytheville, VA ~ The Rusty Harpe Memorial race held at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC was most likely the Best Promoted race in the history of Late Model Stock Car races.

Chip Harpe, father of the late Rusty Harpe, who was a championed racer who lost his life in January of 2007 put together the Rusty Harpe Memorial race along with Caraway Speedway promoter Russell Hackett and the race was a fitting tribute to the former Caraway Speedway driver.

The race held during the July 4th Independence Day holiday was a smashing success with a full field of cars and a great crowd on hand.  Many racing business' got involved with this race and gave away parts or certificates to the racers who attended this special event.

We can expect the Rusty Harpe Memorial race to get even bigger this season in it's second year of honoring the great Late Model Stock Car driver.
