RODNEY COOK #14

Wytheville, VA ~ The Most Entertaining Driver of 2007 was a tough contest between the six drivers that were nominated, but Rodney Cook stood out above the rest with his personality off the track and his skills on the track.

When we say it was tough to choose the Most Entertaining Driver you know we're telling the truth when you read the list of drivers nominated.  Jake Crum is a very talented driver, who races with a passion like few other drivers and at just 16 years old he's going to be entertaining us for a long while.  And, what can you say about Philip Morris, the 2006 NASCAR National Champion and a guy who has dominated the local Late Model Stock Car scene for years with his no holds bar, bump and run attitude that has had him sparring with competitors on and off the track since the good 'ole days.

Then you've got Jimmy "Mr. Excitement" Mullins, who is always an entertaining driver to watch and has been his whole career had a fairly uneventful season despite racing hard to win the Franklin County Speedway championship for the second time(first was in 1995).  Gary Causey, who is also known as "Mr. Excitement" is always an entertaining guy to watch, but this season(unlike last) was also somewhat uneventful, but if I know these two hard nose competitors, I know we'll be seeing a little more of their bumper next season ... or atleast maybe the competition will!

Then the second most entertaining driver has to be Roger Lee Newton.  Newton is very entertaining on the track and never afraid to use the front bumper proving that time and time again.  And, when he isn't being entertaining on the track, just tune into his team's radio frenquency and you'll be hurting from laughing at the conversations.  He's by far my favorite driver to listen to on the scanner.

Now to Rodney Cook, what's not entertaining about this driver?  Rodney was even more entertaining in the big race season this year as he and friend(?), Curtis Truex, Jr. seemed to find each other on the track in every race and this was quite a battle and even more fun was listening to Rodney's side of the story and to hear his crew joking about the whole situation.

I'm sure we'll definately get some good entertainment in 2008 from these drivers and more!
